Debbie McInnes has been involved in public relations for the past twenty years. Prior to her career in public relations, Debbie achieved success in the sales area, consistently reaching above her sales objectives. In her role as Publicity Manager, Debbie devised publicity strategies for two of the largest and most prestigious publishing houses in Australia, Grafton Books (an imprint of Harper Collins) and Pan Macmillan. This opportunity enabled her to promote in a wide range of areas - the arts, sport, entertainment, business, health, travel, gardening and cookery. Since she began her boutique consultancy, she has handled a varied array of clients in the arts and corporate Australia.
Amy’s career has always revolved around publishing, events and publicity.
Working for some of the largest publishing houses in Australia, she has a
comprehensive background in the media and an array of industry contacts and
experiences. Starting with event coordination with the Sydney Morning Herald
Dymocks Event programs, Amy has strong organisational skills and is confident
with event management. She’s helped prepare and run events for some of the
world’s best authors and celebrities (such as Sir Edmund Hillary, Jane Fonda,
Matthew Reilly). Amy has also worked with the Harper Collins publicity team,
helping implement PR strategies across a wide range of publications. Completing
a BA in media writing, Amy has a sound journalistic background and a growing
understanding of publicity in the publishing world. Over the past few years Amy
has focussed on magazine production, working for industry leaders Time Inc,
Pacific Magazines and Australian Consolidated Press. There she was responsible
for controlling the development and implementation of marketing and advertising
projects across some of Australia’s most popular magazine titles including NW,
TV Week, Woman’s Day, New Idea, and Gourmet Traveller.
April has had twenty years experience publicising and
marketing books, exhibitions, talks, seminars and festivals. She has worked at
the Historic Houses Trust and for many years at Allen & Unwin, where she was
Publicity Manager. In 2005, April moved to London and landed a position with the
International Sales team at Hodder & Stoughton. Since returning to Australia she
has worked on a number of different projects, including the publicity for the
NSW Premier’s Literary Awards. April has toured Australia with many well-known
authors, including Margaret Atwood, Jodi Picoult and Gough Whitlam. In 2008 she
also edited a book, Café Republic of Australia: Sights, Stories & Flavours of
Café Culture.
